Hello, In this post I want to present additional information to  my  Youtube video about spacecaft propulsion of my idea . Especially that video is missing 3D picture  of ZOWM propulsion that was in its thumbnail. So here it is:  That is simplified picture of ZOWM propelled by the reins. This is not to scale - in reality these reins should be much longer - like several kilometers - so as to get satisfying increase in momentum during every mutual fly-by of the satellites. This because at altitudes of LEO their relative speed would be close to the double of first cosmic velocity. So we need long enough reins to elongate the time of this fly-by.  We need these reins to be light and strong. For example they can be made of Zylon - polymer that has almost 6 GPa of tensile strength. As they are flexible (they behave like ropes) they are prone to get tangled when they are exiting the torus. LDZ trebuchet - quite sure a trebuchet with the highest range efficiency!

 Hello! This is my first post on this blog. I would like to present the LDZ trebuchet - a mechanical device which I was working on as a part of my master degree thesis in mechanical engineering supervised by professor Przemysław Perlikowski at Lodz University of Technology.  Trebuchets are medieval siege engines which feature high range efficiency. That quantity tells us how well the input energy is transferred to output range of the projectile. I computed that an optimized variant of such a machine from the Middle Ages gets 73% of range efficiency (friction excluded). Nowadays we have many modern concepts of trebuchet which perform better in this field - e.g.: Floating Arm Trebuchet, Multiple Rotation Trebuchet, Trebuchet On Wheels - but we cannot expect from them a score close to 100% (which is upper limit for the range efficiency not breaking the laws of physics).
